Is Ringly still in business?

So far, 2018 has brought about the demise of a couple of fashion tech startups, most notably Ringly and Wisewear. The closure of the smart jewellery companies has sent shockwaves of fear through the fashion tech space. By 2017 Wisewear was teasing us with a new collection by Apfel.

What does Ringly do?

The basic concept of Ringly is to discreetly give you haptic and light feedback when you receive notifications by connecting to your smartphone via Bluetooth. You can even customise the type of vibrations and lights from the app (more on that later).

Does the Ringly app still work?

After four incredible years, we’ve made the decision to not build or order new products at this time. Our existing products will continue to work and we’ll continue to provide support through January 2018 and offer warranty product exchanges through February 2018.

Do smart rings work with iPhone?

If you own an iPhone or, for all I know, a device operating on Windows, you can still have a smart ring working, but the set of available options will most likely be significantly limited.

What is NFC ring?

The NFC ring is one smart ring with unlimited possibilities. Use your NFC Ring to unlock your smart phone or tablet, lock and unlock your door, share and transfer data, and link people. What’s more, it’s water resistant and never requires charging.

Which is better Motiv vs Oura?

Oura Ring is water-resistant up to 100 meters, which is twice better than Motiv Ring. The electronic components are well-coated, so it’s temperature-resistant. You can still wear it safely while you swim or shower or are in the hot tub or sauna. The battery can last for up to 7 days per charge.

How does NFC Ring works?

NFC stands for near-field communication, a radio protocol similar to radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags [source: Donovan]. The NFC Ring can communicate with any other device containing an NFC chip. For example, you can unlock your smartphone or tablet simply by sliding the ring along the back of the device.

What does the Ringly app do for You?

The Ringly app allows you to connect to and switch between as many Ringly devices as you want without interrupting your activity syncing or having to change your notification settings. The more the merrier 😉

Is it possible to have more than one Ringly?

Our Ringly GO strap is full grain leather and we don’t recommend getting wet. If you have more than one ringly, is it easy/possible to use them interchangeably and connect to the device from day-to-day without interruption or inaccuracy in the tracking?

How long does Ringly stay connected to my phone?

Your Ringly will stay connected and recieve notifications as long as you’re within 20-30 feet of your phone. This range can be affected by your phone’s Bluetooth strength, which is subject to interference by walls and other disruptions. But, good news!
