How long does the NPLQ course take?
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course is a minimum of 36 hours, followed by a practical assessment on swimming pool theory, water safety and how to spot potential hazards. The course will teach you the practical skills of lifeguarding, such as water rescue, casualty recovery, CPR and first aid.

How long does an NPLQ renewal take?
The NPLQ Renewal is a one day course including assessment. Renewals taking place at Crystal Palace will always run from 10am – 4pm. Renewals at other venues may have different start and finish times, please check the details before booking.

When does the NPLQ assessment take place in Brighton?
Assessment for the NPLQ takes place at the end of the course. If you do not successfully complete one or more sections of the assessment, you have 28 days to be reassessed.
