Are toilets open at Dalkeith Country Park?

We aim to make Dalkeith Country Park and Restoration Yard as accessible as possible. We have accessible car parking at the Laundry House Car Park and the surface is level to the courtyard. We also have accessible toilets. Unfortunately we do not have hearing loops at present.

Do you need to pay to get into Dalkeith Country Park?

If you’re visiting between the hours of 7am-7pm there is no charge on the gate to enjoy our walking and cycling routes. Your Access Fee is included as part of any purchase made here. If travelling by car, we have a £3 parking charge.

Do you have to book Dalkeith Country Park?

Please ensure you book your tickets for a morning or afternoon visit. We still have some measures in place to help keep you safe: Tickets are only available online and can not be purchased on arrival. Please book tickets to visit for a morning or afternoon session.

Are dogs allowed in Fort Douglas?

Dogs & Adult-Only Groups: We cannot accept adult-only groups into Fort Douglas and dogs are not allowed inside. See Fort Douglas terms and conditions here. For info ~ the tunnel in Fort Douglas is currently closed for maintenance.

How do you get to Dalkeith Country Park?

The best entrance if you’re walking is Town Gate (postcode EH22 2NA). We have a pedestrian path that makes its way from here down to Restoration Yard. Or for a longer walk, head on the yellow Wildernesse Walk to reach us!

Is Restoration Yard dog friendly?

Note: Dogs are not allowed in Restoration Yard or Fort Douglas and are to be kept on a lead in the Palace Field area until across Montagu Bridge.
