It makes far more sense for the Inquisition to save the younger, powerful, and popular Hawke than a Warden whom the people hate/fear (Which was enhanced 9,001+ over due to the BS the Wardens pulled in-game that they had to be defeated by the Inquisition to save the world) and will die within a certain time span no matter what due to the Calling.
