The IPR (injection pressure regulator) is located on the high pressure oil pump at the front of the engine’s valley. The screen may become plugged with debris and be collapsed by the flow of high pressure oil as it tries to flow through the restricted screen.
What should IPR be at idle?
Normal IPR % should be around 21% or so at hot idle and mine drops to about 15%.

An electrical signal to the solenoid creates a magnetic field which applies a variable force on the poppet to control pressure. With the engine off, the valve spool is held to the right by the return spring and the drain ports are closed.
